Earlier this month, I was invited to present my experience with Esteem-implanted patients at the 20th World Congress of the International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngological Societies (IFOS) in Seoul, Korea. My presentation, “Esteem Totally Implantable Hearing Device System: 4 Year Audiometric Data” showed that for Esteem patients, their speech reception threshold (SRT) was initially improved, and remained improved over their hearing aids during the four years they were followed. The same was true of their word recognition scores at 50 dB.  This is longest follow-up study on Esteem patients thus far. From this study, we now have data that shows that the benefit of the Envoy Esteem remains stable even four years after implantation.
